The patrols worked well together throughout the week and in particular during the Water Carnival, showing great teamwork and leadership. It was fun to watch the crew that worked on the Communications merit badge put their heads together working on "homework" (interviews, speeches and essays) when they had free time. The troop also got used to working with their new SPL, Leo C., and Leo got used to being the man in command. They handled challenges and unexpected circumstances very well.
And with Mr. Stewart's prompting, they collectively split so much wood, that even after we had several large campfires, we left a huge stack for the next troop! We decided we LOVE the Pawtucket camp site (although there is a bit of a mud puddle in the middle when it rains, and it is also one of the sites available for the Polar Bear swim). We will be doing our best to get the site again next year.
